WORK ALL DAY

Image
It's nice to be back blogging (for the moment). So here's a little update about my life for you guys..  December's ALREADY here, and this means it's the season for... WORK. Yeah, everyone's gotta get their Christmas-sy shits and what not, plus the fact that this is the school holiday period.. Which just means there will be a buttload of customers. Although it's going to be a pain in my butt, working has already become part of my daily routine so........ yah. And since it's the festive season, there will definitely be... bonuses. .. "It's not a lot anyway" "You'll get paid better at another job" "ntuc for fags" OKAY I GET IT I just like working at this place. Like.. an emotional attachment to it. You guys can go do the shit you wanna do.. I definitely know what I'm doing (I hope). Yay for mega kiwi. Staying up till 1am++ to write price boards. Fyi, the boards are written with a kind of liquid ...

Review: Fire Emblem: Awakening

Image
OKAY haven't been blogging for a REALLY long time so.. sorry to whoever still views my blog. Been REALLY into work and gaming (mostly work) so I didn't have the time to blog.. Or maybe I was just lazy as shit. But anyway, let's get into the juice of this post. I've bought 2 Nintendo 3DS games recently with my hard-earned (YES) cash. Both of which I REALLY want to talk about, so.. REVIEW TIME. Fire Emblem: Awakening  I was reluctant to get this game at first, as I never had experience playing turn-based RPG before. I mustered the courage to try something new after seeing the review on IGN and I must say... It's a pretty awesome game! Those of you who played Final Fantasy or some shit will know how this game works. Take turns to spank one another's asses. But what makes this game special... Is "permadeath". As the name implies, once one of your units fall in battle, they can't be revived. You can turn this option OFF in casual mode, bu...

My off day.

Image
You guys know what this will be about. The only day of the week when I can do whatever the hell I want. My off day. (I'll be working every other day of the week) Why do I do this to myself? I have no idea actually. Let's just say I have already accepted NTUC as part of my life HAHAHA Okay back to topic. Met with shei in the morning for our "once-in-a-while-ly" fix of NERF. It was an "intense" match as usual, most of the time we were hiding behind walls though. Ended up losing (again) with a score of 3-5.. But today is a very important day in our NERF "career" because shei learnt the importance of "suppressive fire". :D Also, the Alpha Trooper turned out to be a really great blaster. It is lightweight and versatile, and it just feels different from the Retaliator in terms of ergonomics. Being in a combat situation made me realise that the slam-fire feature was not really useful.. I end up firing single shots most o...

Update on life: July 2013

Image
So firstly.. I DID IT. IN ALL THOSE FACES WHO LAUGHED AT ME AND SAY I CAN NEVER GET IT WAHAHAHAHA Okay so you're now probably thinking "so what?" Yeah. It's not much of a big deal anyway. BUT I DID IT Okay so the officially most hated day of the week is Wednesday. Where I have to wake up at 7am and drag my heavy ass to advanced math class. At first I thought that I needed the "edge" in my diploma, since I didn't have a cca and shit. But then I realised.. will it really make a difference? Even if I get to skip the math module in uni, will it be good/bad (if you can score well in it, it would've been wasted)? And a hell lot of brain space wasted. So I'm just gonna bet on last-minute revision to even pass the module. Not intending to risk my core modules for that one... Most of my projects down. Almost all of them are done last minute :D We even "tonned" in NP one night to complete the design project. And before tha...

Hello Kitty hype: WTF???

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151504834032934  OKAY OKAY WTF AND AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A LIMITED EDITION PLUSH TOY *with reference to the video above* So this faggot has been complaining NON-STOP to the poor McD manager just because the number of fucking plushies he can buy is reduced from 4 to 2. Okay. So.. YOU CAN STILL FUCKING GET IT. YOU'RE BETTER OFF THAN A WHOLE LOT OF PEOPLE WHO QUEUED LONGER THAN YOU AND CAN'T GET IT AT ALL. You demand an explanation for this? YOU'RE A FUCKING GROWN UP AND YOU'RE COMPLAINING ABOUT LITTLE STUFF LIKE THIS? Or the fact that each of them is actually worth a few thousands of dollars? Complaining over your petty little earnings? Acting all gangster and shit? I doubt imbecile morons like you even have a proper job. PLEASE LAH. Even if they ARE WORTH a few thousands of dollars, the manager at mac definitely don't deserve your fucking little rants. THEY HAVE A WHOLE LOT OF YOU FUCKERS TO DEAL WITH, IF I W...

NVM 2013 - Not quite what I expected

Image
Awesome morning spent participating in the National Vertical Marathon with Qunhan and Mingwei!! Woke up at 6am after spending the night at Mingwei's house.. Playing Maplestory till 1am LOL I shall not go too much into it.. Took the MRT to Raffles Place, where we almost got lost trying to locate the Asia Square building (have you guys even heard of this place before?). Reached the building, at first it was pretty intimidating... Like, "shit, am I really gonna climb this hell of a building". I put that aside later, it didn't really bother me much. IT WAS MY FIRST TIME ANYWAY Registration was pretty smooth, I can see that the event's pretty well planned :) They even gave us a funny lotion that is said to reduce muscle fatigue. It worked later on, but I know that the fatigue WILL come in sooner or later (I'm feeling it right now). Waited for quite a while for our wave to start.. -STARTING POINT- So as to prevent human congestion, the participants are ...

My bucket list

Image
I owe you guys a big one for not updating for 2 weeks. Since there's nothing much happening in my life, here it is. my bucket list. I'll start with the things I have already achieved first (usually stuff I wished for when I was a kid). 1. OWN A NINTENDO DS (and play Pokemon) [ACHIEVED] - My love for Pokemon started when I was playing the emulated version of Red and Blue (you read it right, RED AND BLUE) on my Nokia phone (smartphones were non-existent back then). Raising virtual midgets and battling with them was really fun. Unknowingly, I spent many hours into the game, and soon I desired even better versions of the game. My very first console game (on my GBA) was a second hand FireRed version. I eventually got enough money to buy the DS for myself, and yeah.. still having fun with my Pokemon LOL 2. OWN A SHOULDER-LENGTH NERF BLASTER [ACHIEVED] - When I was young, my mother usually let me go around the mall by myself when we went out shopping for stuff. I spe...

unintentionally

PONNED 2 LESSONS OF IDEA BURDEN UNINTENTIONALLY. Everyone wasn't having classes and had to do "field work" for the presentation next week. Well, almost everyone. I just found out that I HAD TO ATTEND CLASSES today, so it turns out that I have already skipped 2 out of the 4 lessons of Idea Burden (Blueprint). That makes 50% attendance. I'm screwed. and I can't skip any more lessons now. and I think I'm gonna screw up the presentation. GOOD THING IT'S ONLY A PASS/FAIL MODULE. Advanced math tomorrow morning. Wednesdays (and Tuesdays) have officially became Mondays.

MapleStory Season 2: Not so impressive after all

Image
Hi guys. For those of you who are thinking of going back to Mapling for the "brand new season", I hope my little write-up coming up will keep you a little more informed of what's happening, before using up an hour to re-download the game. So.. The long awaited MapleStory Season 2. tbh, I actually stayed up till 12am on the release date to patch my current version, but the auto-patcher screwed up and.. I ended up playing the next day anyway(patcher screwed up after a delay of 4.5 hours for the server maintenance). After I logged in, there wasn't much of a change in the menu.. And a few minutes into the game, I realised that there wasn't MUCH OF A CHANGE AT ALL (visually). Some notable in-game changes: - Job advancement level changes (60 for 3rd job, 100 for 4th job) - Secondary stat requirement for all equipments removed - Major skill reorganisation - Item drop rate adjusted, to sky high levels - Item selling rate to NPCs reduces drastically - NPCs n...

RUN 350: A brand new experience.

Image
Woke up at 4am in the morning today for the annual RUN350 10km event, with Mingwei. This being my very first running event, I was reluctant to sign up for it (at first), and was rather nervous when the day of the run was approaching. What if I get an asthma attack? If I die, will anyone take care of my Pokemon? (HAHAHA jk) But I kept telling myself, if I don't seek to improve myself, I'll be letting my medical condition burden me forever. So I took this challenge. 10km may not seem like much, but it's actually quite a big step I'll be taking :) Took the shuttle bus from Yishun to the Esplanade and CBD area. The morning breeze at that area was indeed refreshing :) We went to queue up at the starting line a little earlier, but I guess it's worth it, only to see the few thousands of people gathering behind us.. It started to drizzle a bit, but it died down soon after that so I'm pretty thankful. 20 minutes of waiting passed really quickly and s...

WHY?

Image
Timetable for the upcoming semester (click for a bigger image). New semester, new beginning. ENROLLED IN MY 5TH 'IS' ELECTIVE CHOICE. First was basic conversational Korean, second was basic conversational Japanese, third was MAN AND MACHINES, fourth was basic conversational French and finally.. Basic conversational SPANISH . I can't believe that I can't even enrol in an elective like "Man and Machines", where you literally just build robots using lego and program them to do stuff. But hearing that again, it actually sounds like an elective many engineering dudes will go for. BUT REALLY, 5TH CHOICE? NP WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME? Hope Spanish turns out fun, really. ):

MORE WORK AND Review: Rayven CS-18

Image
Taking the graveyard shift at work (11pm to 7am) for the very first time today.. I don't think I'm ready for it, and I'm also going out early in the morning on Monday so I think I'm pretty screwed. But I've went to work without sleep for a day before so.. I guess I can make it.. (not considering the fact that I almost fell asleep while standing still) Anyways, it's my manager Jason's last day at the AMK Hub branch today. I'm actually pretty sad cuz I didn't get to send him off or something.. It's gonna be different at work without him. No one's gonna.. - Say about how slow I work - Scold me when I'm not doing something appropriate - Pronounce my name wrongly multiple times - Beat me in Scramble (okay, it's still going to happen) But I personally think, it's all the shit that I went through that makes me a better person altogether. My time here may be short, but you've been a good mentor and an inspiration. Good...

"Annual branch dinner", or whatever you call it, yesterday. Good food, good mates, and good drinks. BAM. The picture above is the ONLY picture in which I do not look: - Red-faced - Like a maniac - Like I'm trying to cover my face 90% of the time A good time to just unwind and chill out after "working so hard" for "a year".. HAHA Okay nothing much to say about this. MY LIFE IS JUST THAT BORING. Went home, had difficulties sleeping because of headache, woke up at 2am with more headache, and unknowingly fell asleep. Almost late for work the next day (today), my grandma had to wake me up =_= And I can't believe, I CAN'T BELIEVE what crossed my mind at work yesterday. My manager was telling me about coming back to Fairprice after NS as a team leader, and went on explaining about many of the benefits. Although the basic pay is little, if my performance was good, I can easily get 5 months worth of bonuses. Sounds a little too goo...

Review: NERF Reflex IX-1

Image
I've figured something out. Since I'm such a "shameless" Nerf blaster collector, instead of just keeping them for fuck's sake, why not I do a little review about them? Let's just start with blasters that you guys MAY probably buy because of it's price. A measly $9.90.. The Nerf Reflex IX-1. At first glance, it sure looks like a little nugget-like pistol for babies. But that's where you are wrong. PACKAGING STATES IT'S FOR AGES 8 AND ABOVE. Okay, still baby-ish.. nvm let's get to the point. ): The blaster's really "chunky" for something of it's size, but it has a very nice feel when gripping it. Albeit the size of the grip.. Your hand is probably a little too big for it. Actually, even 8 year olds WILL have a spare pinky hanging when holding it. Other than that, not much problems ergonomic-wise. It can fit into most pockets without problems, so it can be a really effective quickdraw blaster :) Firing the thing i...

T1K5 chalet~

Image
Was at Aloha Changi chalet the past 3 days with my poly mates. Since this was "a little" last minute, not a lot of people turned up, but nonetheless we had lots of fun. As you can see from the picture below, the chalet is actually kinda.. old and run-down, there were mosquitoes everywhere and there was even (a little out of topic) a limit imposed on how long you can use the air-con. There are extra charges if you exceed the limits. Cheapskate as fuck. But on the other hand, the chalet had A LOT of space, effectively 4x bigger than the 1 room chalet at Coasta Sands I used to squeeze in. But we ended up using one room for the games anyway because of the shitty air-con shit. We can't live without air-con. Okay so first night. As usual, we drank. Martell, proudly sponsored (gotta return the favour sometime) by Zhikuang. (There was Vodka too) Surprisingly, I didn't puke OR get drunk, I was all high. Which is considered a pretty great achievement given that I u...
