RUN 350: A brand new experience.
Woke up at 4am in the morning today for the annual RUN350 10km event, with Mingwei.
This being my very first running event, I was reluctant to sign up for it (at first), and was rather nervous when the day of the run was approaching.
What if I get an asthma attack?
If I die, will anyone take care of my Pokemon? (HAHAHA jk)
But I kept telling myself, if I don't seek to improve myself, I'll be letting my medical condition burden me forever.
So I took this challenge. 10km may not seem like much, but it's actually quite a big step I'll be taking :)
Took the shuttle bus from Yishun to the Esplanade and CBD area.
The morning breeze at that area was indeed refreshing :)
We went to queue up at the starting line a little earlier, but I guess it's worth it, only to see the few thousands of people gathering behind us..
It started to drizzle a bit, but it died down soon after that so I'm pretty thankful.
20 minutes of waiting passed really quickly and soon... FLAG OFF!!
(not my picture)
So.. How do I go about describing my run?
Jogged at a pretty steady rate for 5km..
Walked for 2km... (that was where I lost sight of Mingwei)
Jogged for another 800m...
Walked all the way to the last 500m...
Dashed to the finish line.
And poof. 1 hour 16 minutes.
I can't say it was really good, but it wasn't too bad as well....
But most importantly, I finished the run. :D
1 STEP CLOSER TO BEATING ASTHMA
Went to poop after the run. Forgot to lock the door and... shit happened.
Good thing that wasn't a girl who opened it LOL
Okay lah, I was TOO TIRED to lock the door. :x
Took an MRT straight home, took a bath and went to sleep.
This marks the end of my very first competitive run..
A refreshing experience indeed. :)
